Hydraulic torque converter is composed of pump wheel, turbine and regulating wheel. Installed between the engine and transmission, hydraulic oil (ATF) as a copy of the medium, the transmission of torque, torque, speed and clutch role.

Its output torque is equal to input torque minus friction torque, so its output torque is always less than input torque. The input shaft and output shaft of hydraulic torque converter are connected by liquid, and there is no rigid connection between working members.
